STITCHES

CAST: 1 M

RUN TIME: 1 HOUR

Adapted from David Small's memoir of the same name, Stitches, takes place in Small's studio apartment as he illustrates his life, from tumultuous childhood to acclaimed artist, before the audience's eyes.

By incorporating other mediums such as sketching, painting, chalk, and shadow puppetry, Small revisits his tortured childhood, a botched surgery that left him virtually mute, his estranged relationship with his mother, and how his running away from home eventually led to becoming a Yale graduate and National Book Award Finalist.

Stitches is a show about loneliness, perseverance, family dysfunction, and the importance of art; Quite literally giving the voiceless an ability to speak.
